Mantis Mountain Lodge is an eco-friendly project located in the upper part of the mountain that is in front of the Sauce lagoon in the jungle of Tarapoto, Peru. Mantis seeks to create awareness of the importance of the conservation of the Peruvian high jungle, demonstrating that coexistence and respect for the wildlife that surrounds us is viable.
At Mantis we offer hiking, trekking, fauna watching and flora learning activities, generating an experience of harmony with nature; highlighting the peace and purity of wildlife in the Peruvian Amazon.
This project is developed in an area of 21 hectares, which include a conservation zone, a buffer area and an ecological coexistence area. Part of the area where Mantis is developed has been rescued from deforestation, since it had been used as farmland, without measuring the impact that logging had on the forest ecosystem. Our objective is to recover and restore to this area the balance between nature and man, through a healthy coexistence marked by respect for the environment.
